Patrick Elo is a soon-to-be Professional Communication graduate from Toronto Metropolitan University. He’s someone who’s into all things events, festivals, film, music, and creative projects. He has experience working behind the scenes supporting cultural institutions, live events, and collaborative productions, helping keep things organized and running smoothly. He loves being part of creative teams, solving problems on the fly, and bringing ideas to life. Patrick is especially interested in communications, event coordination, and media where he can contribute to projects that connect with communities and bring people together.

Beyond the Experience explores how cultural organizations shape the audience journey through communications, front-of-house practices, and experience design. The project brings special attention to interactions beyond physical events and spaces, and how they shape satisfaction. While audience experience is often associated with a program itself, many important interactions happen before and after attendance. By analyzing existing research and industry practices, this study looks at how elements such as staff interactions, signage, and pre/post-event communication influence audience satisfaction and engagement. The goal is to highlight how intentional communication and experience design can strengthen relationships between organizations and their audiences.
