Biography

My name is Leah Steen, and I am a fourth year Professional Communications student pursuing a career in advertising.

Research Summary

This capstone project is a creative research project, to address the problem of how the student’s enrolled at Toronto Metropolitan University are not aware of the extent of camera surveillance taking place on campus. The lack of awareness creates an issue regarding one’s privacy and consent to being captured on camera. The data was collected through observational research and consists of why these cameras are being used, what they are being used to capture, and what issues are brought up due to them. The research was analyzed and put into a creative art exhibition, to bring awareness to the problem being addressed as well as the realities of the camera surveillance that is taking place on the TMU campus.
