About me

My name is Polina Yushina and I’m a 4th-year student in Ryerson’s Professional Communication program. I also have experience volunteering and working in Toronto’s arts scene. Throughout the years, I have participated in a variety of theatrics and artistic events, including exhibitions, festivals, and plays. After graduation, I plan on working as a communications specialist in the arts sector.

Research

Research

The purpose of this project is to research the attitudes of young people around Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area toward high art. This research also addresses the dilemma of young people feeling excluded from the modern art sector by looking closer at this situation in the Art Gallery of Ontario. For the study, I have already analyzed secondary sources, collected primary data, and am currently in the process of analyzing it. So far, my research indicates that a lot of young people in Toronto and the GTA feel like they do not know enough about the many wonderful youth programs created by institutions like the AGO and would prefer to be targeted in more personalized ways.
