My name is Brittany Smith, and I am currently in my final year studying Professional Communication at Toronto Metropolitan University. My experience in this program has shaped how I approach my strengths, allowing me to work at the intersection of creativity and strategy. I am passionate about fashion, beauty, wellness, and diversity, with a particular focus on Black women. I excel in ideation and execution, bringing a big picture perspective while staying attentive to detail. I hope to continue expanding and applying my skills within branding, marketing, and public relations.

This research explores how cultural practices developed within and associated with Black women shape mainstream aesthetics in fashion, beauty, and digital culture, and how branding transforms these practices into market value. It highlights the role of Black women as cultural architects shaping contemporary trends and digital culture, while emphasizing the importance of understanding where these trends originate and why recognition and representation matter.
