Breaking News or Breaking Trust? Shifts in Journalism in the Age of Algorithms

I’m a 4th year procom student with an interest in media, external communication and interpersonal communication. I like learning about different communication systems and technologies, as well as their different applications. During my time in procom, I’ve completed minors in philosophy and in entrepreneurship. I think it’s really cool to engage with different ways of thinking and apply them to the situation at hand.

My goal with this research project is to understand on a deeper level how media and news outlets have evolved over time as we’ve been exposed to new technologies. I also want to focus on how we as consumers interact with these sources as we spend more time online. I’m really interested in the environment that the internet and specifically social media creates in which we are constantly being updated, talking to each other and sharing things.
