Alyssa Wong

A young woman with long, straight dark hair and a warm smile, showing teeth and dimples, looks directly at the camera. She wears a black zippered top, a gold chain necklace with a heart-shaped pendant, and gold hoop earrings with white teardrop charms. The background is a softly blurred indoor setting with hints of light and blue.

I am a fourth-year Professional Communications student with The Creative School, also working to complete a minor in Marketing with The Ted Rogers School of Management. I am a creative, collaborative, and critical thinker. I am also an adaptive and positive leader working in collaborative teamwork settings. Most importantly, I am always eager to learn, I enjoy sharing my ideas with others, and I maintain a positive mindset entering new environments.

While marketing and advertising has drastically advanced over the years, people should be aware how their online activity is tracked, recorded, and used. The goal of my research assignment is to find reasons how our devices successfully tailor advertisements and content to individuals based on their preferences, likes, and interests. Through inductive research, it allows theory to emerge, define key findings, and provides results to my research question.
