Aaniqa Hemnani

A bright portrait of a young woman with medium skin tone and long dark brown hair, parted down the middle. She is smiling broadly, showing her teeth, and has dark eyes and defined eyebrows. She wears a textured heathered grey knit sweater and a silver chain necklace with a script name pendant clearly spelling 'Haanlya'. The background is a smooth, light grey.

I’m Aaniqa Hemnani, an international student from the Democratic Republic of Congo studying Professional Communication at Toronto Metropolitan University. I’m passionate about digital media, communication, and creative design, and I enjoy exploring how people connect and engage with content in online spaces.

I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of environments, from managing social media content and designing visuals to coordinating events and supporting teams. These experiences have helped me become adaptable, detail-oriented, and confident in working with diverse groups of people. I’m especially interested in creating content that is clear, engaging, and accessible, and I enjoy combining creativity with strategy to communicate ideas effectively.

This project explores how communication style influences engagement and learning in short-form educational content on TikTok. By analyzing a sample of videos and audience responses, the study examines how elements such as tone, visuals, and pacing shape how users interact with and understand content. The findings suggest that informal, engaging communication styles can make complex ideas more accessible and support meaningful learning in digital environments.
