Biography

My name is Chiara Marcello. I am 22 and a soon-to-be graduate of the Professional Communication undergraduate program at Toronto Metropolitan University, with a double minor in Public Relations and Events and Live Entertainment Management.

Research Summary

My capstone is a critical discourse research project aimed at understanding why the stereotypes that exist about Muslim women continue to persist in society. Specifically, my study revolves around a headline and text analysis to uncover if mainstream Canadian media, such as the Globe and Mail, is at fault.
