Research Summary

In recent years, with the development of the Internet, more and more people have begun to use social media to share their photos and videos, which is a new way to record life and communicate with friends. However, people’s anxiety about appearance has gradually become more serious. According to research, women’s use of social media causes more psychological problems such as appearance anxiety, especially adolescent girls. This research will mainly use the primary research method for in-depth analysis. The purpose of this study is to draw relevant conclusions about the influence of social media on the appearance anxiety of adolescent girls through a specific analysis of social media, and to discuss how to better use social media to reduce negative effects such as appearance anxiety and promote self-acceptance and gaining positive social identity among adolescent girls.
