Originally from Chad, Africa, I am a student who experienced the academic life in three different environments as I grew up between Chad, France, and Canada, where I developed a passion for learning new languages and discovering new cultures. As part of my final year of undergraduate studies, I decided to work on a study inspired by my own experience as an international student who experienced the academic life in various learning environments.

Research

The purpose of my research project was to examine Ryerson's professional Communication students and identify their stress management techniques. The research focused on the sources of stress, evaluated the university’s performance on student’s mental health, identified the coping strategies adopted by most students and proposed a healthier alternative with the recommendation of health professionals.

A vertical infographic titled 'A Student's Guide to Stress Management.' The left panel has text: 'OVERWHELMED WITH ACADEMIC STRESS? Using psychoactive substances isn't the right solution. Learn about healthy alternatives now.' The right panel features four images, from top to bottom: a student working on a laptop, a distressed woman with her hand on her face, a table with a can, a book, an ashtray with a cigarette and a smoky glass, and finally, a silhouetted person holding an alcohol bottle. All images have a reddish-brown filter, conveying a serious tone about stress and unhealthy coping.
