Hi my name is Misha Brar I am a fourth year Professional Communications student at Toronto Metropolitan University. Throughout my past four years at TMU I have enjoyed learning about communications and its impact. During my time as a ProCom student I have developed a new passion for social media marketing and its impact on newer generations. This new found passion inspired me to do my research project on the negative impacts of influencer marketing on teens.
Details of Project
This research project identifies the detrimental effects of influencer marketing on teens, emphasizing the possible financial, social, and psychological repercussions. Young consumers are exposed to inflated ideals of consumption, lifestyle, and beauty as they interact with social media influencers more frequently. This can result in problems including anxiety, low self-esteem, and body image difficulties.
