Biography

Adriana Forestieri is a fourth-year Professional Communication student at Toronto Metropolitan University, minoring in English. She has built a strong writing, storytelling, and strategic communication foundation, supported by hands-on experience in graphic design and social media. As Vice President of Marketing for the Professional Communication Course Union (PCCU), Adriana led branding and outreach initiatives that enhanced student engagement across digital platforms. In addition to her leadership role, she has worked on several freelance and professional projects, supporting businesses and organizations with their design, content creation, and digital strategy needs. Adriana stays informed on emerging trends in digital marketing, branding, and audience engagement and is passionate about using storytelling to build authentic and lasting connections between brands and their audiences. She aspires to pursue a dynamic career in writing, marketing and public relations!

Details of Project

This research explores how contemporary trends on TikTok encourage users to curate their identities in ways that promote conformity and performative self-presentation. By aligning with specific digital aesthetics and behaviours, individuals are often compelled to fit into narrowly defined identity categories. The study investigates how these trends shape online personas and what implications they have for how users present themselves both on- and offline.
