In One Day and Out the Next
Hi! I’m a fourth-year Professional Communication student. My life-long passion for storytelling brought me from Vancouver’s North Shore to downtown Toronto in 2018. Since then, I’ve gained a newfound interest in digital marketing and copywriting— areas of professional communication I hope to pursue in my future endeavours.
After noticing a drastic increase in my spending habits during the height of COVID-19, I was inspired to conduct a research study exploring how social media platforms (particularly TikTok) can influence the amount and kinds of clothing we purchase.
My project aims to suggest possible avenues for further research about the impact that TikTok is having on the fashion trend cycle. Furthermore, it seeks to provide solutions and strategies that trend researchers and sustainable fashion advocates can use to address this growing concern and its ongoing impacts.
