Andrew Skerlec

A communication professional interested in small business development, creative design, and innovative technology.

I am currently in my final semester at Ryerson University, and upon graduation I hope to work within the field of small business development utilizing both what I've learned in my studies and professionally.

Research

The focus of this research study was to gain a better understanding of how communication affects hospitals, healthcare professionals and patient care in Canada and to provide recommendations to improve communication platforms in the future.

A dark teal-blue poster with white text against the blurred image of a modern, dimly lit hospital or clinic hallway featuring a reception desk and a person's silhouette. The Ryerson University logo and 'School of Professional Communication' are in the top right. The main title reads 'Putting the patient first.' Below, it states 'Creating better patient care through improving healthcare communication in Canada. A capstone research study by Andrew Skerlec.' A question asks: 'How does information access and privacy affect patient care?' At the bottom, another question appears: 'Should Canada adopt a Universal Electronic Health Records System?'
