Hi there! My name is Alana Punit. I am near the end of my four years in the Professional Communication undergraduate program at Ryerson University. I have also completed a minor in Psychology. My personal struggle with mental illness in my first year of university inspired the topic for this research.

Research

My research studies the transition from high school to university and the impact on student's mental health in their first semester. The purpose of this research is to help create solutions to improve first-year university students’ overall quality of life. I used a quantitative research method for my study. I created an in-depth study to ask first-year students at Ryerson, personal questions about their experience in university in relation to their well-being.
