Details of Project

Her capstone project, “Beyond the Prompt: How ProCom Students Are Using Generative AI and What It Means for Learning,” explores the role of Generative AI in academic settings. Through a mixed-methods survey, the research investigates how students use generative AI for coursework, how they perceive its impact on academic outcomes and critical thinking, and how peer norms shape usage habits. The findings suggest that while AI is widely used and often tied to productivity, its connection to learning is less consistent, which raises questions about how these tools are currently integrated into education. The project contributes to ongoing conversations about digital literacy, student agency, and the evolving relationship between communication, education, and technology.
